“Painting focuses, calms, absorbs and stimulates.

I love it.”

It was clear from very early on, to anyone who knew me, that art would be my path in life. Paper and pencils were my go-to source of expression and my way of describing the world around me.

Since completing a BA (hons) in Graphic Design I have worked as an illustrator and designer in the fields of publishing, editorial and marketing.

Alongside I have developed my own personal work, exploring landscape and direct observational drawing, which always leads me to abstract work.

Having a strong sense of design, I am always aware of the structural elements of composition - the shapes, direction of line, and contrasts that underpin a painting.

A short film

“When I paint I am trying to find something that’s elusive, the surprise element, the catching of a moment in time.”
